Infant/Toddler

Our caregivers offer consistency and encouragement to infants. Interaction, both socially and emotionally are so important in the early years of development. Our infant curriculum focuses on the growth of each individual infant. Activities for the infant are centered around; language and communication, physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.

In partnership with parents we provide:

Pre-School

Pre-school activities focus on school readiness and literacy development. Children engage in, and learn about subjects through active play using the learning centers.

Pre-Kindgergarten

This is a transitional time for a four and five year old. We offer a pre-kindergarten program that will ready your child for the academic and social structure of a kindergarten environment. We create a foundation of skills through our learning centers for all future learning. The Pre-Kindergarten curriculum focuses on developing these skills:

Kindergarten

We offer a full-day kindergarten program that maintains a small classroom environment. The Kindergarten uses nationally recognized curriculum. The classrooms are designed to give students the opportunity to learn and explore.

Learning Centers

All levels of Garrett's Way, from Toddler to Kindergarten, use Learning Centers. The Centers focus on the related theme of the week.

Reading Center:

Offers a quite, soft, cozy place for reading a book, magazine or newspaper.

Listening Center:

A center for all students to learn and discover the listening process through books on tape.

Kitchen/Dramatic Play Center:

A center where children experiment and learn through social interaction.

Block Area/Floor toys:

The children can explore and navigate through physical and cognitive play.

Art Center/ Writing Center:

The child's creativity and imagination are discovered in this center. Fine motor skills are observed and developed.

Science Center:

A center for observing, calculating and forming ideas about how things work. A wonderful hands-on- experience using sand and water tables.

Computer Center:

A great center for children to develop hand eye coordination using the keyboards and mouse. The children learn through educational interactive play.

Music Center:

Music is offered part of the day and incorporated into our curriculum. Children can learn rhythms and patterns through music.

Staff

Our staff members have been chosen for their sensitivity toward the individual needs of children. They are experienced and professionally trained teachers or caregivers.

Staff profiles and qualifications are displayed outside each classroom for parents to view at anytime.

Nutrition

The center will provide 2 nutritional snacks each day. You must provide lunch for your child.

Hours

Garrett's Way will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
